About the Project
The Wind Wall project is located in the mountains of Kern County, California. Eolus acquired a majority stake in the project in 2017. At the time, the wind farm consisted of 400 older turbines from the mid-1980s with a total capacity of 36 MW. Together with the project’s co-owner, Eolus repowered the project. The wind farm now features 13 new turbines with a total capacity of 46.5 MW, generating four times more electricity than before.
The project was completed and became fully operational in 2021. It was the first wind project in the United States to be developed, financed, and constructed by Eolus.
